A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a motorcycle in Kazipur upazila of Sirajganj district.

The deceased has been identified as named Abdus Samad, 79, of the Charpanagari area in ​​the upazila.
 
The incident occurred on Saturday at 11:30 AM on the main road near Sukhi’s house, located to the west of Nishchintapur High School in the upazila. The motorcyclist, Ratul (20), sustained serious injuries in the incident.
 
According to the Kazipur police, Ratul was riding his motorcycle past the western side of Nishchintapur High School when he struck Samad from behind. Samad fell onto the road, sustaining a severe head injury, and died at the scene. The motorcyclist was also injured and was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.
 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kazipur Police Station, Md. Abdur Razzak, confirmed the incident, stating that police were promptly dispatched to the scene upon receiving the report. No formal complaint has been filed regarding the incident thus far; however, should a complaint be lodged, necessary legal action will be taken following an investigation.
